Cybersecurity startup SpecterOps, which has an office in Seattle, raises $75M
SpecterOps, an Alexandria, Va.-based cybersecurity startup that helps companies fend off identity-based threats, raised $75 million in a Series B round.
- The startup was founded in 2016 by CEO David McGuire, a University of Washington alum who has more than 20 years of experience in industry leadership and U.S. Marine cybersecurity roles. The company’s chair is Kevin Mandia, founder of Google subsidiary Mandiant.
- SpecterOps has about 200 employees, with nearly 15% of headcount based at its Seattle office, where McGuire is based.
- Insight Partners led the Series B round, which included participation from Microsoft’s venture fund M12, as well as Ansa Capital, Ballistic Ventures, Decibel and Cisco Investments.
